Basic Obedience

Basic obedience is walking on a leash without tugging, coming when called, sit, stay and not to jump up on their handlers (or anyone else).

When we get those tiny little cuddly puppies we forget that in just a few short months, that cute cuddly baby is going to be a big bounding dog. In the case of the tiny's, small and snappy. That is why puppy school and obedience training is so important.

What sets us at Manderston apart from other trainers, is that you don't have to wait until we have an opening for you or a 'training block' begins. You can join us the weekend after you got your puppy, which is the by far best time to begin learning!

Handler Education

It is important for any pet owner to understand his pet’s needs, such as nutrition, veterinary needs, grooming, and general obedience. Teaching your dog to stand still for the vet or groomer is very important and makes you (the owner) look good. A disobedient dog is not a pleasure to have around, so basic obedience is a must, 

such as sitting when you want to pet him instead of knocking you off your feet, or taking food off your plate while chatting to friends at a braai... We teach you how to correct and train your dogs in these situations.

Home Obedience

Any dog owner who has owned a disobedient and unruly dog will tell you what a nightmare it is. So we aim to provide general domestic obedience to the pet owner.

An obedient dog is a pleasure to own. To take for walks without being tugged off your feet. Having him sit instead of knocking you over when you arrive home from work. These little things make owning a dog a pleasure and your bond with your pet stronger.

Show Obedience

Having been a successful handler and competitor, and now a judge, Charlene can assist the competitive handler to achieve more out their competition dog and to resolve any problems which might be holding them back from becoming champions.
