Agility
Agility forms an integral part of the training programme for both puppies and adult dogs. This part of training presents both mental and physical challenges to the dog. The dog learns to face challenges and obstacles with a "can do" attitude, while on a physical level it develops muscle power and balance. It also makes the dog aware of its legs, especially the hind legs, and improves co-ordination. The exercise is overseen by the trainer. Dogs under 13 months are not allowed to jump anything higher than their elbows, to protect their growing bone structure.
This confidence building activity, which also forms a competition discipline, is great fun for both owner and dog. It is the ideal way to close a strenuous training session.
